Hi my name is Nicola Bradley but if you know me from the start I was McClelland and most still would call me that. I opened The Nu-U Beauty Salon on Friday 10th December 1999. I was only 18 years old at the time. There was no other beauty salon in Claudy at the time but I thought I would give it a go to see how it went. Turns out it went not to bad...

The Nu-U has evolved so much over the last few years, and I'm incredibly proud of the journey.

In 2021, I took one of the biggest steps in my career by moving the business from my home into a purpose-built salon. It was a dream come true and allowed me to create a beautiful, relaxing space where clients could enjoy professional treatments in complete comfort.

Like many businesses, the journey hasn't always been straightforward. In 2025, I discovered I had developed a severe allergy to nail products. After years of working in the nail industry, this meant making the difficult decision to step away from nail services and focus my passion on advanced skin treatments, beauty therapy, and permanent hair reduction.

Rather than seeing it as a setback, I saw it as an opportunity to invest even more into the future of the business.

Throughout 2026, The Nu-U has welcomed exciting new technology, including not one, but two state-of-the-art facial systems from Germaine de Capuccini. These cutting-edge devices represent the very latest in professional skincare, allowing me to deliver advanced, results-driven treatments tailored to every client's skin concerns.

I am also incredibly proud to continue specialising in Alexandria Professional® Sugaring—the gold standard in professional hair removal. I was honoured to become the first Alexandria Professional Sugaring account in Northern Ireland, and it remains one of my favourite treatments to offer. Gentle on the skin, incredibly effective, and suitable for even the most sensitive clients, it's a treatment I truly believe in.

Since the day I started The Nu-U, my philosophy has always been simple: invest in the very best education, technology, and treatments so that every client receives exceptional results.

That commitment hasn't changed.
